Qikiqtarjuaq, Nunavut – Tuesday, August 7

This morning I woke up cold. I was not able to use the washing machine and dryer so instead I turned the fan in my room to high to try to dry my clothes. When I woke up the room was freezing!

After warming up I went outside to see a glacier before I sat in on a lecture about why the mountains and rocks are the way they are today. While we were talking about the glacier, a big polar bear came out of the water. You could tell how big it was by the way its body moved in the water.

Later on in the day we landed in Qikiqtarjuaq. When we docked the boat in the harbour there were lots of kids waiting for us. They asked us many questions such as what our names were and where we were from. I like the way they greeted us in this town and showed us what kinds of animals they eat. The town was different from where I am from because we eat beluga and here they eat narwhale.
